Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What types of massage do you offer?

I have studied and continue to study various massage therapy styles such as sports massage, relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, cupping massage, pregnancy massage, and myofascial release. My work is also informed by my graduate training in psychotherapy as well as shamanism from Peru, and yoga. Usually, treatment ends up being a confluence of styles to meet your individual needs as they each offer their respective benefits.

2. How much does a massage therapy treatment cost?

A treatment is either $90 for a 60 minute session, $130 for a 90 minute session, and $170 for a 2 hour session.

3. What is the cancellation policy?

Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to avoid getting charged a fee for 50% of your session. No-shows require full payment. Exceptions are made for emergencies.

4. Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! The gift card page is LIVE on this website. Contact me if you run into any difficulties or have questions. Gift cards for 1 treatment expire 4 months after purchase.

5. What should I expect during my first massage session?

On your first session, we will have an intake session where we discuss how you are feeling, medical history, lifestyle, and come up with a plan of action for the session. Following the intake session, I will step out of the treatment room so that you can get undressed to your level of comfort and lie on the treatment table under the sheets. Then we will begin the "hands-on" portion of the treatment which will last 60+ minutes or more depending on the session length that you selected.

6. Are there any medical conditions that would prohibit me from receiving a massage?

Yes. While this is not an exhaustive list, massage on deep vein thrombosis, acute inflammation, certain kinds of cancer, blood disorders, and open wounds are contraindicated. Please consult your doctor if you are not sure.

7. What should I wear to my massage session?

In my experience, most clients will leave either their underwear or be completely unclothed, underneath the sheets. After evaluation/check-in, I will step out for you to get undressed to your comfort level. Ultimately, it's about you feeling safe in your body, so if you desire to keep clothes on, that's fine as well. Private regions will always be draped.

8. Do you accept insurance?

I do not, but can offer you a receipt which you can use for insurance reimbursement.

9. How often should I schedule a massage?

It depends on your lifestyle, level of tension, as well as budget. I have seen clients 2x/week for years on end and others every few months. I will offer you my professional opinion after your first session.

10. Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. I am licensed in the state of Florida and Puerto Rico and am insured by InsureLMT in Florida, which is where I currently practice.

11. Are there any age restrictions to get a massage?

No. Babies can get massage and older adults can get massage. Minors are to be accompanied by their parents. I have massaged young athletes below the age of 10.

12. What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Massage therapy is a manual manipulation of the soft tissues of the body that has been shown to have a wide range of physical and mental health benefits. Some of the benefits of massage therapy include reducing muscle tension and pain, improving circulation, increasing range of motion and flexibility, reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting relaxation and overall well-being.
